Choose a bakery/light meal, casual lunch and either casual or full dinner—do not multiply one unusually cheap meal.

Central walking can be free; add airport transport, Matka and late-night taxis separately.

Activities

Many outdoor sights are free; confirm every museum, boat or tour price at source.

Three planning styles

These are compositions, not price promises. A festival, refundable room or last-minute booking can move the hotel total more than a full day's food.

• Budget: dorm/guesthouse quote, bakery breakfast, casual local meals, walking and city bus, mostly free sights.
• Mid-range: central private room, mixed casual/table-service meals, airport shuttle or one taxi, one paid museum or excursion.
• Comfortable: full-service central hotel, airport transfer, frequent taxis, guided tour or private Matka transport.

Cash and cards

• Use MKD for ordinary local payments and exchange money only at banks or official exchanges.
• Keep small cash for markets, small cafés, some taxis and backup.
• Ask the ATM or card terminal to charge in MKD; compare your own bank's conversion terms.
• Exchange unwanted denars before leaving if your home market does not handle MKD.

A reusable formula

Trip total = live accommodation total + (daily food allowance × days) + airport transport + local/day-trip transport + confirmed tickets + shopping + 15% contingency. Keep the calculation in MKD, then show a second-currency reference using the current official rate.
