Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Skopje Trip (skopjetrip.com) collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We keep it as short and honest as possible.
Who we are
Skopje Trip is an independent travel guide focused on Skopje and North Macedonia. Questions or requests can be sent to hello@skopjetrip.com.
What we collect
We do not run user accounts and we do not ask for personal information to read the guide. The data we do process is limited to:
- Optional analytics: if configured and if you accept, Google Analytics 4 may process pages viewed, referrer, approximate country and device type. It is not loaded before your choice. We do not collect names or email addresses through it.
- Affiliate click tracking: when you click an affiliate link (Booking, GetYourGuide, eSIM providers, etc.), the destination site may set its own cookies to attribute the referral. We do not receive any personal data from these clicks — only aggregated commission reports.
- Server logs: standard technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) kept short-term by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies
The site stores your analytics choice in local storage. Optional analytics is disabled until you accept it, and rejection is offered with equal prominence. Embedded Google Maps load automatically using browser-level lazy loading, so Google may receive connection and device data when a map approaches the visible page. Third-party sites may set their own cookies after you intentionally open them.

- Google Maps — embedded maps loaded automatically with browser-level lazy loading
- Affiliate networks (e.g., Booking, GetYourGuide) — when you click a call-to-action to visit a partner site
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. Their processing happens on their own infrastructure once you interact with them.
Change your choice
Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer at any time. Rejecting analytics prevents future analytics loading on this site; you can also clear existing third-party storage in your browser.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (EEA, UK, California, etc.), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because we don't run accounts, most rights are covered by clearing your browser cookies. For anything else, contact us at hello@skopjetrip.com.
Data retention
Aggregated analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults. Server logs are rotated within a few weeks. We keep no long-term profile of individual visitors.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
